The Streets Don’t Love You is a platform to bring awareness to the root causes of inner city violence, while simultaneously educating the would be perpetrators of these violent acts to a simple fact, that The Streets Don’t Love Them, so they should Show No Love To The Streets!
We aim to do this three ways:
- Using visual cues by wearing buttons and t-shirts with the SDLY logo on them, and placing stickers on items or in places where youth that are susceptible to falling for what the streets have to offer are predominantly located.
- Helping to fund after school programs that keep at risk youth off the streets by using a portion of the profits generated from the sells of the buttons, t-shirts, stickers and books sold on the platform
- Educating at risk youth on why The Streets Don’t Love Them
We believe that by taking these measures we can help in the fight to end the inner city violence that claimed 700+ lives in Chicago alone in 2016, with well over 4000 nationally.
